Note: Because the coat mold is in half, it must be printed twice or copied onto a folded sheet of paper.

With carbon paper and square, copy the scratch of the coat on the color set paper.

Whenever possible, carbon paper should be avoided, especially in light-colored materials; but here there is no other way, since we need to copy correctly the marks by which we will do the folds afterwards.

Carefully cut the coat with the stylus and the square.

With even greater care, pass the stylus over the mold marks without cutting.

This will make it easier to fold the paper without causing wrinkles.

Turn the coat so that the inside - the part where the card goes - lies up and covers it with a sheet of paper, leaving only one lapel out.

Pass the stained glass on the lapel.

Then do the same with the other (taking care not to touch anything on the lapel that has already varnished) and let it dry.

The stained glass will give a satin-like appearance to the lapels of the coat, like a real tuxedo.

Taking advantage of the fact that the paintbrush is varnished, cut a square of colored paper and add another layer of varnish to it to make the tie.

As long as the varnish dries, let's take care of the inside of the card, which is the shirt.

Important: The shirt has a part, which was not included in the mold, as it is optional. If you want to include it, cut a 15.5 cm X 1.5 cm strip of paper and fasten it to the base of the mold - right in the center - with a durex, forming a "tail".

Cut out the pattern and scratch its outline on white canson paper.

Since we're just going to bend the neck, we do not need carbon paper here.

smoking invitation

To know where to fold the collar, turn up the mold tips and scratch.

smoking invitation

Fold the two strips in the indicated parts and glue the tips in the center of the card with a drop of hot glue.

We do not use white glue here because harder papers, such as the canson, tend to loosen in the glue points, forcing it to remain in place with fasteners and weights until the glue dries; this "breaks" the paper curves and produces unwanted folds.

The hot glue sticks to the paper immediately, requiring only a light finger pressure for a few seconds.

smoking invitation

Transfer the risk from the tie to the square of color paper set that you varnished just before.

Carefully trim - preferably with curved scissors - and place a pinch of hot glue in the center.

smoking invitation

Attach the two larger tips in the center with hot glue.

Avoid bending the straps that form the loop.

smoking invitation

Pull the thinner part over the two glued ends of the tie, fold the tip and glue it back.

smoking invitation

Stick the tie on the shirt.

We're not done yet: remember the button?

Turn the shirt down and make the buttons with white dots of glitter paint on the strip that we added to the card.

Let the buttons dry and fold the coat over the places you previously marked with the stylus.

Notice how the flaps of the coat overlap each other.

smoking invitation

Make buttons on the tuxedo coat too, this time with silver metallic paint.

smoking invitation

The shirt card is inside the open coat.

You can write in the blank part, lowering the patte...

Then put it in place, snapping the tip under the tie, without gluing.

And, of course, closing his coat.

Your card is ready!

Tip: Instead of stained glass, you can give more prominence to the lapels with a border of silver metallic paint. Whatever your choice, we are sure that the person receiving the tuxedo will be amazed.
